Law-abiding gun owners in British Columbia are being targeted — while criminals continue to operate with impunity.
Farmers, hunters, and sport shooters are facing growing costs, red tape, and uncertainty from federal policies that fail to address the real source of gun violence. At the same time, violent offenders are using illegal firearms — often smuggled across our borders — to commit serious crimes in our communities.
This is not public safety. It is misplaced priority.
A government led by Kerry-Lynne Findlay will restore common sense and focus on what keeps British Columbians safe:
Target criminals, not law-abiding citizens
Enforcement will focus on gangs, repeat violent offenders, and illegal firearms trafficking — not responsible gun owners who follow the law.
Crack down on illegal guns
Strengthen border enforcement, increase penalties for gun smuggling and trafficking, and disrupt organized crime networks.
No provincial gun registry
British Columbia will not create or support any provincial registry that duplicates federal systems and burdens lawful owners without improving safety.
Protect rural and Indigenous communities
Respect the lawful use of firearms for hunting, farming, and wildlife protection, and ensure policies reflect the realities outside urban centres.
Defend provincial jurisdiction
Stand with Alberta and Saskatchewan to push back against ineffective federal policies that target lawful owners instead of criminals.
Invest in real public safety
Increase support for policing, gang prevention, mental health, and addiction services — addressing the root causes of violent crime.
British Columbians deserve a government that focuses on results — not symbolism. That means going after criminals, securing our communities, and respecting the rights of responsible citizens.
